Millie

"Where are we going?"

We were standing hand in hand in the blinding sunlight on Hyde Park Place. After a much-needed shower and more sex, we were finally ready to venture out in search of food.

"I thought that we could rent bikes and ride to Notting Hill if you're up for it?"

"As long as you feed me as soon as we get there." My stomach growled loudly and I placed both hands on it as though I could silence the loud sound.

"There's a public bike rental station right on the other side of the road, near the Marble Arch entrance." He pointed across the street and we started walking.

"Have you done this before?" I knew I sounded a bit skeptical.

"Nope, babe, it's a first with you." He squeezed my hand.

There were several bikes locked in a row.

"It's supposed to be easy with an app." He showed me the Santander Cycle Hire App on his phone. "You pick up the bikes in one place and then you leave them at another parking stop. Then you walk around, and with the same code you can pick up new bikes in a completely different area."

"Let's do it." I thought it sounded fun and I thoroughly enjoyed playing tourist with Trevor.

With the light spring breeze in my hair, we pedaled through Hyde Park and out on Bayswater Road before climbing the small hill to Portobello Road where we left the bikes at the first station we found.

"That was amazing. So, we just leave them here?" I locked my bike to the dock.

"Yup, and then we can pick up new ones at another station or Uber it back to the apartment."

"My stomach is screaming for food, can we do that first? And then I've always dreamed of ravaging the thrift shops on Portobello Road."

"The day is yours, Millie. We can do whatever you want as long as it ends with you in my bed."

"Aww, you're so sweet," I stood on my tiptoes and took his full lips in a kiss. "I can't get enough of you, Trevor, and you will always find me in your bed." I sashayed away from him in search of a cozy café or pub.

"Trevor," I dried my hands in the napkin before I continued.

"Yes, sweetheart." He took a long swig of his beer, a lager from a local micro-brewery.

"I think we should contact the Los Angeles Times and ask if you could tell your story from your side. How you've built two businesses simultaneously and the way you give back to society."

"Millie, we can also just let it rest. The worst turmoil has blown over by now, and I don't feel like rehashing the whole damn thing again." He groaned loudly.

"I'll go with you and stand by your side. It can be our story to tell, how we met years ago, rekindled and still love each other ‘just the way we are’."

"Can we please leave it? The headline made me sick, and there was so much missing information, I thought I was reading about a different person.
